Air-O-Matic was designed in 1947 specifically for heavy duty military
vehicles. In 1989 it was approved for the US Military Extended
Service Program (ESP) for the 2.5 ton truck, and it remains the only
government-authorized steering modification for the M-35. |

 | Powered by your vehicle's compressed air system, Air-O-Matic provides
power assist only when you need it. |
| Manual steering is always available as a backup in the event of a power
assist failure. If pressure in the system drops below 60 PSI, Air-O-Matic's
safety valve closes protecting your air brake system and returning the
steering to manual control. When sudden engine failure occurs, reserve
air allows you to steer the vehicle to a safe stop. |
| The Air-O-Matic system eliminates the need for hydraulic oil, pump,
accumulator, belts, gears, and filters. |
| Installation takes only four hours using standard automotive tools:
no cutting, welding, or fabrication required. |
